An article in TODAY reported that lingerie for the dead made of paper is selling like hotcakes in Malaysia. The report said:"Matching cardboard-made brassieres and panties in various colours and designs are selling like hot cakes at Choon Ban Heong in Magazine Road here. The colourful bras, ranging from simple plain colour ones to sexy leopard prints, are also carefully lined with colourful trimmings and decorated with tiny paper butterflies."
It is natural for humans to worry about their afterlife. That's why we have paper servants, paper rolex, paper credit cards, and now, we even can choose what kind of undergarments we wear when we are dead. Can you imagine: Victoria Secrets for the dead?.
Human beings need assurance, that's why sometimes people believe it is better to be safe than sorry; better burn something just in case the deceased go poor/hungry. However, as Christians, we believe that when we die, we go home to the Lord. Heaven is a place where we need not worry about what we eat/wear. The old order of things will no longer be applied, and there will be no need for these things anymore.
